The RMIT Science Open Workshops provide an opportunity for PhD candidates and researchers to develop an international perspective of scientific research.
The RMIT Science Open Workshops are jointly organised by the RMIT School of Science and RMIT Europe. The purpose of the workshops is to provide an opportunity for European and international PhD candidates and researchers to develop an international perspective of scientific research and gain relevant transferable skills.
Participants will be exposed to large scientific installations, specialised research centers and workshops on technology translation and scientific outreach. The workshops will take place in the historical and artistically rich city of Barcelona. The city itself has become increasingly recognised for its scientific capacity over the past 15 years.
Participants will expand their own skill sets to support scientific career development through a range of workshops. The topics to be covered include:
- translating scientific discoveries to commercial innovations
- scientific outreach and communication
- developing international collaborations
- European funding schemes
- career development skills.
