You are invited to meet with RMIT’s penultimate and final year students in Computer Science, Information Technology and Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Biomedical Engineering programs.TechTalk is a different platform to brand your business and to engage with students beyond the elevator pitch. It is a great opportunity to tell our students about what makes your business tick and what it takes to bring value to your team. We are planning to connect our students with a diverse range of 30-40 industry partners in the ICT field at this event and registrations are now open in CareerHub. We encourage you to bring your most enthusiastic interns, recent hires and technical experts along for a techie talk over refreshments in RMIT’s historic Storey Hall auditorium. TechTalk is hosted by RMIT Careers & Employability in collaboration with RMIT Society for Women in Information Technology (SWITCH), RMIT Electric Racing, and the RMIT CSIT Society.

Event format – what to prepare
Each registered organisation will be provided with a table space to exhibit collateral and banners. Please note that power and wireless internet are not available at the tables.
This year we are piloting a user-friendly video introduction to whet the appetites of students and as a ‘conversation catalyst’ to maximise the networking experience in your conversations during TechTalk.
The videos will be featured on a secure Google site accessible to registered students. The site will be made available for students two weeks prior to the event and taken down after TechTalk has concluded. Please gather the team and prepare a 2-3 minute casual video pitch, highlighting:
- the essentials about your organisation including core business activity and key initiatives for the next 2-3 years
- relevant skills sets for current or future graduate opportunities and - more generally - what type of personality fits your organisation
- additional information or a personalised greeting/invitation to visit your table and chat with you.
We hope you will have as much fun recording this as our students will have in viewing your video! Videos can be securely uploaded to an individual Dropbox folder and we can provide access to a team member of your choice (please specify e-mail address). Please upload your video pitch by Friday, 24 February! A pre-event letter will be sent to all registered organisations closer to the event.
We look forward to seeing you at this free event!
