Ms Perlin Chan: Fish Sh-nack came about because there was one night when I was having my family reunion dinner at my Uncle’s restaurant and I noticed that he was serving this, ah, product, fish skin, and I think that it could be a business opportunity that Ken and I could explore together. So I gave him a call.

Mr Ken Ping Tan: I was thinking, “hey you know I could actually do something better with the product, make it healthier”. Healthy snacks were very difficult to find. Fish Sh-nack is packaged air-fired fish skin and yam shavings. The RMIT Business Plan competition helped us to expedite our pace of business.

Ms Perlin Chan: We are the first Singapore team that has entered into the final and we were flown to Australia and we were given the opportunity to be surrounded by like-minded entrepreneurs around the region. So being in such an environment gave us the motivation and new ideas on how we could execute our product better. Operationally Fish Sh-nack is exploring preservation techniques. Ken and I, we have contacts in airlines and hotel industry and we will be putting Fish Sh-nack on a regional scale.
