RMIT University is the official education partner for the Melbourne Renegades. Fast bowler Kane Richardson visited RMIT to take a tour and to experience our teaching facilities and talk with our staff and students.
KANE RICHARDSON SPEAKS:
Hey guys Kane Richardson here from the Melbourne Renegades. Today I'm at RMIT University, hopefully I can have a look around and learn some cool stuff.
VISUAL:
Kane speaking to the camera. Kane walks along Swanston St into Info Corner at RMIT. A friendly staff member greets Kane.
KANE RICHARDSON SPEAKS:
Hey how you doing? I'm Kane.
VISUAL:
Kane walks through the RMIT campus and meets with someone from the RMIT cricket club.
CRICKET CLUB PERSON SPEAKS:
Keen to help us out, would you like to give us some catches or some fielding drills.
KANE RICHARDSON SPEAKS:
Whatever you think coach over to you, alright perfect.
VISUAL:
Kane hits the cricket ball to the fielders from the cricket team. They all get together with Kane for a team photo.

Kane is being interviewed by an RMIT student in the television studio.
RMIT STUDENT SPEAKS:
Welcome Kane to RMIT's media precinct, this is a virtual set studio one of a kind very unique in Australia the only University that has it.
VISUAL:
Kane does some pretend bowling in front of a green screen. A student is using the television control equipment to superimpose a virtual environment of the interior of a space ship around him.
VISUAL:
Kane is posing infront of a RMIT building on Swanston Street. He walks into a room and two small robots greet him.
ROBOT SPEAKS:
Hello Kane welcome to RMIT I hope you enjoy your visit.
VISUAL:
Kane gets a tour of some RMIT facilities and interacts with some robots by teaching one how to use A cricket bat and doing pushups alongside a small robot. Kane walks into the RMIT Health Sciences Clinic and talks to two chiropractic students and they show him an anatomical skeleton.

Thanks for having me can you tell me a little bit about Osteopathy.

Kane walks around the Healthb Sciences Clinic and into the chinese medicine herb dispensary.
KANE RICHARDSON SPEAKS:

STUDENT SPEAKS:
So in the dispensary we've got about 250 different types of traditional Chinese med-herbs.
VISUAL:
Kane is with a group of studentrs in an sports science teaching space.
STUDENT SPEAKS:
We're here on the Bundoora campus this is our exercise metabolism lab and today we're going to be doing a couple of tests with you.
VISUAL:
Kane is running on a treadmill with scientific breathing equipment over his face.
KANE SPEAKS:
I was starting to get pretty tired there towards the end. Such a big run yeah. (lauaghs)
VISUAL:
Kane is talking to a student in a food science lab. There are fruits and vegetables in front of them.
STUDNENT SPEAKS:
Hi Kane my name's Elena I'm a PhD student here at RMIT in the field of nutrition and food science. Which one would you have as a post recovery snack?
KANE SPEAKS:
Potato.
STUDENTS SPEAKS:
Banana. (laughter)
STUDENTS SPEAKS:
Welcome to our food innovation and research centre here at RMIT, and the room that we're in at the moment is actually our sensory testing facility.
VISUAL:
Kane is eating three unidentified snack bars.
KANE SPEAKS:
Favourite, second, least. Gingerbread that's why. (laughter)
VISUAL:
Kane is outside at the Bundoora campus and talks into the camera.
KANE SPEAKS:
Hey guys it's been a great day hanging out at RMIT. I've hung out with some robots one gave me a hug I played cricket with it, did some push-ups I met the cricket team I've been here trying some food. It's been a really good day and I've learned so much so it's been great.
