JONATHAN DUCKWORTH SPEAKS: I think the future of healthcare could certainly take advantage of virtual reality and augmented reality technology. I think we're starting to see, as this technology becomes more easier to use, it's lower cost, it can be applied in a number of health domains. We've already seen it being used in health domains such as treating phobias, movement rehabilitation, where patients, for example, can sort of practice particular movements in an augmented reality environment, and then can get feedback on types of movements that they're performing. It could also be used in a Dementia and Alzheimer's, where patients can maybe transport themselves to places they've never been to before, or trigger memories, or places they have been before. Virtual reality has been used since sort of the mid-2000's in health for a variety of applications, that I've mentioned. It's proven to be effective, so there's quite a growing and large area of virtual rehabilitation. In our work, we're actually seeing the benefits. In our own research, we're starting to see the benefits that our patients are gaining from using this virtual reality technology.
