Highlights From The Design Archives
The RMIT Design Archives actively collects material relating to Melbourne design from the twentieth century onwards, and is an integral part of a vibrant research centre in the heart of the city.

A flat grey archival box is placed on a surface by a person whose forearms, and white gloved hands, are in view throughout the film, revealing the contents of the box.
A series of colour photographs of the RMIT Design Hub and RMIT Design Archives is placed on the lid of the box interspersed with the cards with text: Introducing the RMIT University Design Archives. The lid of the box is removed to reveal two cards inscribed with the RMIT University logo and RMIT Design Archives wordmark.
Three drawings from the Phillip Zmood automotive collection featuring the Torana GTR-X are displayed one after the other and then removed from view.
Three drawings from the Ron Rosenfeldt furniture collection featuring the words ‘Frigidaire’ are displayed one after the other and then removed from view.
Four photographic proof sheets from the Prue Acton fashion collection featuring women modelling 1960s fashion are displayed one after the other and then removed from view.
Two pages of poster-magazine from the Is Not Magazine Collection are displayed one after the other and then removed from view.
A line drawing, photographs and a folded drawing of buildings from the Frederick Romberg and Robin Boyd architecture collection are displayed one after the other and then removed.
Three black and white photographic proofs from the Diane Masters fashion collection featuring Diane Masters modelling various garments are displayed one after the other and then removed from view.
A book from the Anatol Kagan architecture collection is opened and pages turned revealing coloured maps, typescript and handwriting until the book is closed and removed from view.
Four colourful cartoons from the Alex Stitt graphic design collection featuring a monster-like figure mounted in black frames are displayed one after the other and then removed from view.
Three fabric pieces titled ‘Bal’, ‘Tiger Stripe’ and ‘Starfish’ from the Frances Burke textile collection are displayed one after the other and then removed from view.
A poster with title ‘Fashion-able’, Metro magazine and two fliers from the Fashion Design Council fashion collection are displayed one after the other and then removed from view.
Four plastic sleeves containing Fast Forward audio cassettes and newsletters from the Fast Forward / Independent Publishing collection are displayed then removed from view.
The box is emptied except for two cards inscribed with the RMIT University logo and RMIT Design Archives wordmark.
The lid of the archive box is replaced.

Volume
- Navigate to the volume slider using the Tab or Shift + Tab keyboard combination.
- Press the left or right arrow to decrease and increase the volume.
Full screen
- Navigate to the full screen button using the Tab or Shift + Tab keyboard combination.
- Press the Spacebar or Enter key to toggle between full screen video and normal size.
