Data loss prevention - overview

[Voiceover]
At RMIT, we're taking the security of your information to the next level.
With the implementation of data protection tools within Microsoft Office 365, you'll now have the ability to label your files and emails with one of four classifications. All you have to do is select which classification is most relevant to the information contained in your file or email.
For example, the green public classification would be the right choice for a lecturer working on a course guide. Public is for data that is suitable for anyone to see.
The yellow trusted classification would be a relevant choice if you were an admin staff emailing minutes from a recent meeting. Trusted is for data that should not be in the public domain.
The orange protected classification is a great choice if you are an academic grading student work. Protected is for data that may be harmful, if in the wrong hands.
The red restricted classification provides the highest level of security and would be the right choice for a researcher working on confidential data. Restricted is for data that is highly confidential and should have limited access.
Keeping data safe is key to how we work at RMIT. Data security, select to protect.
