2021 class timetables – Is your class on campus or online?
The following instructions will assist you to control the video player using the keyboard.
Starting and stopping the video
- Use the Tab or Shift + Tab keyboard combination to navigate the video player controls.
- Navigate to the Play button using the Tab or Shift + Tab keyboard combination.
- Press the Spacebar or Enter key to toggle between play and pause.
Closed captions
- Navigate to the closed captions button using the Tab or Shift + Tab keyboard combination.
- Press the Spacebar or Enter key to open the closed captions menu.
- Navigate to the preferred close captions option using the Tab or Shift + Tab keyboard combination.
- Press the Spacebar or Enter key to activate the close caption option.
Volume
- Navigate to the volume slider using the Tab or Shift + Tab keyboard combination.
- Press the left or right arrow to decrease and increase the volume.
Full screen
- Navigate to the full screen button using the Tab or Shift + Tab keyboard combination.
- Press the Spacebar or Enter key to toggle between full screen video and normal size.

Due to COVID-19 safety requirements, not all classes in 2021 will be on campus.
VISUALS: A series of blurred image appears in the background. There is an opaque overlay over the images. Text appears on screen for a few seconds before sliding off screen and new text appears.
TEXT ON SCREEN: Tutorials. Workshops. Practicals. On campus. Online. Online or on Campus. On Different Weeks.
Classes like tutorials, workshops or practicals may be held on campus, delivered online or be online some weeks and on campus for other weeks.
VISUALS: Text appears on screen for a few seconds before sliding off screen. The opaque overlay also slides off screen, leaving a blurred image in the background.
It will depend on your course.
VISUALS: The red outline in the shape of a rectangle appears with white text over the blurred background. The red outline and text then disappear. The opaque overlay then appears over the blurred background with new text in white appearing.
TEXT ON SCREEN: Is Your Class On Campus Or Online? Check Your Details in MyTimetable.
First, you need to check the details of your tutorials or practicals in myTimetable.
VISUALS: The text and opaque overlay slide off screen and a new blurred background image appears. Then the opaque overlay slides in again and new text appears on screen.
TEXT ON SCREEN: Higher Education Are Not In MyTimetable And All Online in Canvas.
Note that for higher education, lectures won't appear in myTimetable. They will all be delivered online and you will see them in Canvas.
VISUALS: The text then slides off screen and the opaque overlay and blurred background are replaced with the landing page for RMIT Students website. The web page zooms in on the ‘Class timetable’ button and the myTimetable page appears. The web page zooms in to the ‘Log in to myTimetable 2021’ button and clicks on the button. The RMIT MyApps Portal then appears.

First, log in to myTimetable.
VISUALS: The myTimetable web page then appears. The left-hand side ‘Enrolment’ panel has a yellow highlighted outline. The mouse then moves over the classes listed in the left-hand side panel, before clicking on different links. Each time a link is clicked on, the right side of the page displays a class schedule.
TEXT ON SCREEN: Welcome to myTimetable – 2021.
And click on a class in the enrolment panel to display all the classes for your course.
VISUALS: The campus column from the class schedule is now highlighted by a yellow outline.
Look at the campus column.
VISUALS: Then a red arrow appears and is pointing at the campus location in the first listed entry. The yellow highlighted outline then shifts to the next column for location and the red arrow moves to the first listed entry for location.
If the class is on campus, it will list the campus where the class is being delivered and the location column will list the classroom.
VISUALS: The yellow highlighted outline then appears back over the campus column and the red arrow appears at the bottom of the entries, pointing to the last listed entry in campus.
If the class is online, the campus column will say Canvas.
VISUALS: The image of the web page then blurs, and an opaque overlay appears along with the red outline and white text. The opaque overlay, red outline and text disappear, leaving the image of the web page.
TEXT ON SCREEN: Classes With A Mix Of Online & On Campus.
Some classes offer a mix. You will attend some sessions on campus and some online.
VISUALS: The yellow highlighted outline now appears over the activity column.
Check the activity column.
VISUALS: The yellow highlighted outline disappears from the activity column and then reappears around the first two rows of the timetable.
Classes which have a mix of on-campus and online delivery are listed over two lines.
VISUALS: The yellow highlighted outline disappears and the opaque overlay appears with white text on screen. The opaque overlay and text then slide off screen.
TEXT ON SCREEN: Check Your Details In myTimetable.
In this example, you can see 17 classes numbered 1, 2, 3 etc.
VISUALS: The mouse then scrolls down the page and then back up the page to the top of the timetable. A yellow highlighted outline appears over the first two entries in the activity column.
Each class has two parts labelled P1 and P2. Once you select a class, you must attend both the P1 on-campus classes and P2 online classes.
VISUALS: The yellow highlighted outline then disappears and reappears over the weeks column. The yellow highlighted outline then disappears.
It is important to check the week's column as it lists the dates your classes are on campus or online.

TEXT ON SCREEN: Entering Class Preferences.
Check the duration column too, as some classes might be longer than others.
VISUALS: A yellow highlighted outline appears over the preferences column and the mouse moves hovers over a drop down box and clicks. An option box appears showing a list of numbers one through ten. The number one is selected for the first list entry, and then number two is selected for the third listed entry.
When the preference entry period opens, higher education students will be able to enter their preference for one complete class.
VISUALS: While the mouse continues selecting numbers from the preferences drop down menu further down the page, a blue chat box appears on the page pointing to the first drop down menu.
TEXT ON SCREEN: You will not be able to mix-and-match parts from across classes.

VISUALS: The chat box and web page disappear and are replaced by the RMIT Students web page. The mouse then moves down the left-hand side navigation menu and clicks on the ‘Class timetables’ link. The left-hand navigation menu is then replaced with a sub menu. The mouse then hovers over and clicks the ‘Higher education class timetables’ link.

VISUALS: The ‘Higher education class timetables’ page then loads. The myTimetable web page then appears.
Most vocational education students do not need to enter preferences. You will be automatically allocated to a class, unless your course coordinator has told you that you must allocate yourself to a class.
VISUALS: The RMIT Students web page appears. The mouse then moves down the left-hand side navigation menu and clicks on the ‘Class timetables’ link. The left-hand navigation menu is then replaced with a sub menu. The mouse then hovers over and clicks the ‘Vocational education class timetables’ link. The ‘Vocational education class timetables’ page then loads.
