Mr Nathan Field (Graduate, Bachelor of Business (Entrepreneurship), RMIT University): Although I grew updoing video production, I didn’t want to do a film and TV degree necessarily. I wanted to have a multi-skilled approach to my education, which is why I studied business. And so I jumped into Business Entrepreneurship in order to have that, that two-faceted skill set, where I’ve been working in video production for the last five years, and then I have been studying marketing, and business entrepreneurship.

Mr Nathan Field: In my last year of the degree we had an assignment where we were asked to work with Microsoft as part of a protégé competition, and part of the assignment, the whole assignment, was to work with a start-up and develop a marketing strategy for that company.
VISUAL: Montage of images of Mr Field on the phone, in the grounds of RMIT, interspersed with pieces to camera, like those described in the initial scene.
(Ambient instrumental music playing)
Mr Nathan Field:
So I got a call from the CEO of the company whom we were doing the assignment on and said ‘Are you interested in being a candidate for a marketing position in the company?’ And I said “Yes, that’d be great’, only to find out a few weeks later that I was the only candidate he was asking, which was even nicer to find out. But, that resulted in me being the marketing lead for a young entrepreneurial start-up in Melbourne, with a global market, with some pretty heavy investors.
VISUAL: Image returns to initial scene described. Mr Field talks to camera.
So RMIT, straight out of the gates prepared me well to have a marketing role, I majored in marketing, in an entrepreneurial start-up, which my degree was based on.
So if that’s not a testimony I don’t know what is.
