MORGAN RYAN SPEAKS: I like economics and finance because I have a passion for business, I think economics and finance as a double degree has a really good base for starting a successful career in the corporate world. It’s also a dynamic field that’s always changing and challenges you to think outside the square and it applies to everyone.

BELINDA MARTIN SPEAKS: To me economics and finance describes the world around me, it describes life decisions, it describes human decisions. So for me having the space to think about that and learn about that was really fantastic.

MORGAN RYAN SPEAKS: I’ve always been a bit keen on the idea of business, I wouldn’t know actually where it started, but it’s never been a doubt in my mind something I want to do and pursue. I was one of those little kids who would sell, make cupcakes and sell them and things and try and make profits. And I was just then sixteen I started studying economics at school and really enjoyed that and it just flowed on from there.
BELINDA MARTIN SPEAKS: RMIT has an excellent reputation for training, has an excellent reputation for industry links, quality academics, quite hands on academics which is something that I really respond to.

MORGAN RYAN SPEAKS: Most things you learn in classroom applies quite easily to things you do in the workforce and also the opportunities such as global partnerships with schools like Penn State University, which I studied at. The clubs, like the wakeboard club I am part of, the sports I can get involved in with netball university games and I love the urban city environment, for a country girl it’s fun to come into.

BELINDA MARTIN SPEAKS: Mix of high quality academics and I personally had a great social life. A mixture of the two worlds for me.

MORGAN RYAN SPEAKS: Some of the best things about studying my course was the professors were always engaging, willing to help, so it’s quite easy to do well if you wanted to do well. You have so many resources available to you. So many people to help you. I also liked the flexibility of RMIT, a lot of courses offered online lectures so especially when I was working full time, studying part time, it fitted around my schedule.

BELINDA MARTIN SPEAKS: I think my greatest advice would be make sure you’re choosing units you really love. You will never succeed if you choose a course you don’t love. You’ll succeed if you’re genuinely interested in it, and then you won’t have problems with success, it will come to you naturally.
