Guneet Khurana: Fashion Student | RMIT University
Having studied fashion design before, Guneet chose to do the Associate Degree in Fashion and Textile Merchandising at RMIT to learn more about the business side of fashion.

GUNEET KHURANA VOICE OVER: I like galleries because you can get inspired for the colours, you can get inspired for the patterns.
VISUAL DESCRIPTION: The lady stands before a painting with a sketch pad on her hand and sketches the painting that is in front of her, and then walks to view the other paintings in the gallery.
GUNEET KHURANA VOICE OVER: When I look at the Baroque painting, I look at the details of it, what the artist is trying to convey, because every painting has a story.

VISUAL DESCRIPTION: The lady continues to walk and to view paintings in the gallery.
GUNEET KHURANA VOICE OVER: My name is Guneet and I'm from India. And I'm studying fashion and textile merchandising at RMIT.
VISUAL DESCRIPTION: The lady is Guneet. She walks down Melbourne’s crowded street, stops, and takes a mobile picture of the crowd, and watches people of all walks from the street.
GUNEET KHURANA VOICE OVER: Melbourne is a great city for fashion because it's a multicultural, and you can actually see the fashion of all the different countries. You can get the idea of what's going on around the world.
VISUAL DESCRIPTION: Guneet is in Clegs, a textile shop in Melbourne. Guneet enters Clegs and examines the colorful textiles on display.
GUNEET KHURANA VOICE OVER: The fashion that inspires me is the old bohemian style. To me, good dress is all about the colours and the prints, not about the silhouette.
VISUAL DESCRIPTION: Guneet picks up a printed cloth.
GUNEET KHURANA VOICE OVER: If you have a meaningful good print on it, the dress will definitely look good.
VISUAL DESCRIPTION: RMIT Brunswick Campus. Guneet enters the campus and walks through the campus park.
GUNEET KHURANA VOICE OVER: I'm studying in RMIT. One year, I did fashion design and technology, and now I'm studying fashion textiles and merchandising. It teaches you more of the business side of the fashion.
VISUAL DESCRIPTION: Guneet is in her classroom with her instructor and receives personalised coaching on pattern making and garment cutting.
GUNEET KHURANA VOICE OVER: Teachers at RMIT - they have really good experience of the industry. I learned so many things like how the business works in the fashion label, and what patternmaking is, how I'm gonna cut the garment.
VISUAL DESCRIPTION: One of RMIT’s building.
GUNEET KHURANA VOICE OVER: It's really good and positive environment.
VISUAL DESCRIPTION: Guneet enters the RMIT sewing room where she meets with her model. She measures the waist line of her model, prepares the pattern and cuts the cloth.
GUNEET KHURANA VOICE OVER: Very soon, I'm going to launch my fashion label named MONNA. So, I'm just gonna apply all of my skills I learned at RMIT, so that I can bring something new and fresh in the fashion.
VISUAL DESCRIPTION: Guneet gets to a sewing machine and sews the cloth.
GUNEET KHURANA VOICE OVER: My biggest dream is I want my label to be successful. To me, it's all about my label. It's like my baby [chuckles].
VISUAL DESCRIPTION: Guneet walks on Webb Bridge with her model wearing the garment she had made for her. The two ladies stop walking and pose for the camera.
GUNEET KHURANA VOICE OVER: Giving people the things they want in clothing will make me happy.
