Supporting our RMIT community

When you’re part of RMIT, you’re part of a global community who support and care for each other – no matter what.
It’s been an incredibly tough start to the year. We started 2020 responding to the Australian bushfires, and now we have a dedicated team working around the clock to keep our staff and students informed about the coronavirus.
Beyond the talk - here’s how we’re supporting each other at RMIT.

- We’re on the phone and online.
We’re working hard to connect with every student who’s been affected by travel restrictions or quarantine. Whether you’re student or staff, directly impacted, or feeling anxious: there’s someone for you to talk to here at RMIT Connect or HR Assist.
VISUAL: White text reading “We’re pitching in …” appears on-screen. A neon sign with “RMIT Connect,” on it appears, followed by another with “Support,” written, followed by a shot of a conversation between two people.

We’re offering tailored, personal support; from care packages to expert wellbeing conversations.

- We’re keeping it clean.
We’ve upped the cleaning and sanitisation of all high-traffic and communal areas. There’s hand sanitiser and info on hygiene far and wide. It’s important we all play our part.

· We’re keeping it fresh.
Across our campuses, we’re monitoring our heating, ventilation systems and air conditioning. And we’re increasing the flow of fresh air in our buildings.

From our Medical Hub to registered nurses temporarily based at every campus, there are experts ready to answer your questions and support you if you need it.

- We’re putting you first.
We look forward to welcoming everyone to our campuses soon. In the meantime, for impacted students, we’re working to provide flexible options, and we’re adapting as the situation evolves.

For our staff and students who are able to join us day one – let’s get started.
Whether it’s joining our clubs and societies, meeting new friends, or making memories, a fantastic experience is waiting for you at RMIT.
It won’t be the same on campus without everyone but, right now, health and wellbeing comes first.
We can’t wait to welcome all of you in 2020 because, at RMIT – today and every day – we’re at our best when we’re united.
