RMIT student shaping his future in audio-visual production
RMIT student Elliot Jemison’s aspiration to join the audio-visual and live production industry is slowly coming to life through practical work experience.
Jemison, who studies the Diploma of Live Production and Technical Services, has been building a portfolio of practical work for several years.
He has gained global experience, having worked in the audio-visual industries in both Singapore and Indonesia.
Jemison said he chose to study in the RMIT yearlong program to consolidate his knowledge on live events production.
“I am doing the program because I want to work in audio-visual TV as well as the live events sector,” he said.
“I really enjoy the program; the teachers are great and everything I’m learning is really helping me with ideas for my future career.”
With a focus on sports and live events, Jemison hopes to one day relocate to the United Kingdom to pursue a career in the audio-visual field.
“In the future I see myself working for a TV sports production company doing camerawork and audio,” he said.
Simon Embury, Diploma of Live Production and Technical Services Program Coordinator, said Jemison’s dedication to his passion will open many doors in the future.
“Elliot’s desire to succeed in the field of audio-visual production will take him far,” Embury said.
“The Certificate IV and Diploma of Live Production and Technical Services programs have a very practical and hands-on focus, giving students the opportunity to flourish in their chosen areas within the audio-visual field.”
