RMIT English course supports Brazilian scholarship students
More than 160 students from Brazil have completed English studies at RMIT English Worldwide (REW) through the Science Without Borders program.

Science Without Borders (Ciência sem Fronteiras) is a large-scale nationwide scholarship program primarily funded by the Brazilian federal government.
The main goal of the program is to promote the expansion of science, technology and innovation in Brazil through international exchange and mobility.
The program enables students to study abroad for one or two semesters each year at top universities around the world.
Since the program was launched in 2011, REW has supported hundreds of students who have greatly improved their English before moving on to further study at RMIT.
Lucas Hauptmann Pereira recently completed his studies at REW over 20 weeks and is now moving onto a computer science degree at the University.
Pereira said his confidence with English had greatly improved following his time at REW.
“REW teachers are very committed to the learning process. The classes aren’t too big so they are able to help each student individually,” he said.
“They clarify any question asked—they always have the answer and are very prepared and motivated.
“I have learnt more in 5 months at REW and living in Melbourne than I would in many years of English lessons in Brazil, and I am very grateful and satisfied.”
Australia is one of 25 countries involved in the Science Without Borders program worldwide.
Many students choose RMIT as their study destination, as their scholarship program includes an internship or research placement.
