The School of Education is pleased to welcome Professor Amanda Berry, who brings a distinguished profile in research on science teacher expertise and teacher educator development.
Professor Berry comes to RMIT from Leiden University, the Netherlands, where she worked in international teacher education and teacher development research. Her research program addresses the major challenge of educating teachers and improving teacher preparation in ways that take into account teaching as complex, specialised and situated practice.
With extensive experience of working with teachers at all levels of schooling and in different countries around the world, in designing, supporting and researching teachers' professional learning, Professor Berry is looking forward to the opportunity to promote and enhance research-infused teaching at RMIT through the activities of the School of Education.
Professor Berry holds a PhD and a Master of Education from Monash University and a Bachelor of Education from Melbourne University.
