RMIT's Entrepreneur in Residence Marcus Powe will meet aspiring and existing business owners when he visits Hamilton next week.
Mr Powe will host a business breakfast, spend one-on-one time with business owners in the Hamilton CBD and talk to high school students on 8 and 9 September.
He said opportunities were everywhere: the challenge is turning them into a reality.
"When we are young we get told to dream big and anything is possible, but somewhere this notion gets lost in adulthood," he said.
"An entrepreneur is simply someone who recognises an opportunity and turns this into a reality."
RMIT Senior Manager in Hamilton , Dr Kaye Scholfield said Mr Powe's visit will inspire those with a businessidea looking for some advice.
"Mr Powe is an experienced business person and consultant who can give you feedback, advice and practical suggestions to help take your idea and turn it into reality or to help grow your existing business ," she said.
Mr Powe teaches Entrepreneurship, Strategy, Marketing and Business Planning.
He has a long career specialising in the growth of industry, community and service organisations, working withmore than 400 organisations in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore helping them to make strategic choices.
This initiative is part of the Cooperative Learning and Business Incubator project supported by the Victorian Government.
