Associate Professor Mark Gregory is available to comment on today’s Petya cyber attack.
Gregory, a senior lecturer in network engineering in RMIT’s School of Engineering, is an expert on internet security and telecommunication networks.
Gregory said: “The Petya cyber attack highlights the evolution and sophistication of cyber attacks that particularly focus on computer systems that have not been updated and patched with the latest security releases.
“The systemic problem facing the computer industry will continue while governments allow companies to sell and provide operating systems that are not built with integrated security systems.”
