RMIT expert available for comment on first anniversary of marriage equality
An expert from RMIT University is available to talk to media on the first anniversary of marriage equality.

Dr Raymond Trau (0403 128 691 or raymond.trau@rmit.edu.au)
Topics: lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender/gender diverse, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ+) inclusion, diversity and inclusion at work
“Today marks the first anniversary of the yes vote, which decided that all Australians deserve the same opportunities under the law.
“The LGBTIQ+ rights movement is still very much in progress in Australia with many people still afraid to come out at work, as our recent research highlighted.
“The Out at Work: from Prejudice to Pride report released in August found less than a third of LGBTIQ+ employees were out to all their colleagues and this significantly compromised their wellbeing and work performance.
“Even though Australia is making progress around LGBTIQ+ inclusion, marriage equality still does not exist in many countries, including developed nations.”
Dr Raymond Trau is a workplace diversity expert. He lectures in the School of Management and is a member of RMIT’s Centre for People, Organisation and Work. He has been published in the Harvard Business Review online and is becoming a go-to media commentator on diversity and inclusion.
Dr Trau was the lead researcher on Out at Work: from Prejudice to Pride, a joint RMIT and Diversity Council Australia (DCA) report.
