Course Description
In this course, you will develop the written and analytical skills to study in the field of exercise and sport science.
Particular emphasis is placed on developing your skills in sourcing, reading and citing scientific information, and developing your understanding of scientific methodology, including quantitative and qualitative research methods, research design, ethics, data analysis techniques, data reliability and validity, interpretation and presentation of data in tables and figures, and the presentation of research in oral and written formats.
The knowledge gained upon successful completion of this course will provide you the skills needed to complete your studies in Exercise and Sport Science.

Overview of Learning Activities
This course is organised into weekly modules consisting of online video lecture recordings, readings, discussions and activities that are designed to be completed in a relatively self-paced manner. However, it is expected that you have completed the weekly online module prior to attending your compulsory face-to-face tutorial class the following week.

Course resources including announcements, detailed class schedules, course learning materials and grades will be provided online via Canvas. You will be expected to regularly access this course website, and analytics will be used to track engagement with the course.
Overview of Assessment
All hurdle requirements for this course are indicated clearly in the assessment regime that follows, against the relevant assessment task(s) and all have been approved by the College Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor (Learning & Teaching).
To pass this course, you must pass the hurdle requirement and obtain an overall mark of 50% or more.
