Distinguished Professor Andrew Ball

Distinguished Professor Andrew Ball is a Professor in Environmental Microbiology in the School of Science and the Director of the Centre for Environment, Sustainability and Remediation   His research expertise is in the fields of bioremediation, organic waste treatment, and environmental fate of organic pollutants. 

Distinguished Professor Suresh Bhargava 

Distinguished Professor Suresh Kumar Bhargava is the Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor (International), College of Science, Engineering and Health and the Director of the Centre for Advanced Materials and Industrial Chemistry.  His research expertise is in the fields of industrial chemistry and advanced material sciences, specialising in gold nanoparticles, broader nanoscience and technology.

Distinguished Professor Min Gu 

Distinguished Professor Min Gu is the Associate Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Research Innovation and he provides strategic oversight of the development of deployment programs as well as developing the research ecosystem to support innovation and entrepreneurship across the University.  He is a world leading authority in the fields of nanophotonics, nanofabrication, biophotonics and multi-dimensional optical data storage with internationally renowned expertise in three-dimensional optical imaging theory. Distinguished Professor Larissa Hjorth 

Distinguished Professor Larissa Hjorth is an artist, digital ethnographer and Professor in the Games Programs, School of Media & Communication and co-director of the Digital Ethnography Research Centre (DERC) with Heather Horst. Her research expertise involves the gendered and socio-cultural dimensions of mobile, social, locative and gaming cultures in the Asia Pacific region.

Distinguished Professor Kourosh Kalantar-Zadeh 

Distinguished Professor Kourosh Kalantar-zadeh from the School of Engineering is the Director of the Centre for Advanced Electronics and Sensors. His research focuses on a diverse range of areas including gas and bio-sensing, two dimensional electronics, devices for medical diagnostics and microfluidics. Distinguished Professor Helen Lingard 

Distinguished Professor Helen Lingard from the School of Property, Construction and Project Management undertakes industry-based research into occupational health and safety and the health and work-life balance of construction workers. She was awarded an inaugural ARC Future Fellowship to deliver a program of research entitled Differentiation not disintegration: Integrating Strategies to Improve Occupational Health and Safety in the Construction Industry. Distinguished Professor Arnan Mitchell 

Distinguished Professor Arnan Mitchell from the School of Engineering is the RMIT Node Director of the Centre for Ultrahigh bandwidth Devices for Optical Systems (CUDOS). His research is dedicated to the creation of microtechnology solutions enabled by fundamental research in diverse disciplines spanning physics, chemistry and biomedical sciences. Distinguished Professor Lee Parker 

Distinguished Professor Lee Parker from the School of Accounting is an Honorary Fellow of the Centre for Social and Environmental Accounting Research at the University of St Andrews, and research advisor/assessor in management and accounting to universities, government research granting bodies and professional associations across the globe.

Distinguished Professor Sarah Pink 

Distinguished Professor Sarah Pink from the School of Media and Communications is a global authority on digital visual and sensory ethnography methodologies research. She works across themes including digital media, energy, consumption, everyday life, sustainability, activism, tacit and sensory ways of knowing, safety and health and the construction industry. She researches across urban, domestic and workplace environments.

Distinguished Professor Cuie Wen 

Distinguished Professor Cuie Wen is a Professor of Biomaterials Engineering in the School of Engineering and her research interests include biomaterials engineering, surface coating/modification of metals and alloys, porous metallic biomaterials (Ti, Mg, and their alloys and composites), shape memory alloys and scaffolds, nanostructured metals, alloys and composites.

Distinguished Professor Yimin (Mike) Xie 

Distinguished Professor Mike Xie is the Interim ECP Director Advanced Materials in the Enabling Capability Platforms in Research and Innovation.  His research expertise focuses on microstructural design of materials, structural optimisation and the design and manufacture of innovative structures and materials.

Distinguished Professor Xinghuo Yu 

Distinguished Professor Xinghuo Yu is the Associate Deputy Vice Chancellor Research Capability in Research Innovation and he provides strategic oversight of the development of RMIT’s research capability across the University and how these capabilities can be deployed to drive impact in research and innovation.
