This Global Studies Week Seminar is a contemporary study of political ideologies.
The contemporary study of political ideologies requires careful reappraisals of its globalizing research terrain that produce new conceptual mappings and in-depth analyses of globally articulated thought-systems through which individuals and groups perceive, judge, and act in their varied political environments. This presentation comes in two parts. First, it suggests that the growing transdisciplinary field of ‘global studies’ can be organized around four theoretical ‘framings’. Second, this presentation seeks to clarify how a ‘global studies perspective’ can support innovative inquiries into today’s globalization of the ideological landscape.
