Frequently asked questions for undergraduate study

At RMIT you’ll experience an education that prepares you for success, exposes you to new ideas and equips you with the skills and knowledge to excel in your chosen career.  Our courses are designed alongside industry to ensure you build the practical skills you need to succeed at work. RMIT will give you the hands-on experience employers are looking for, by learning in real-world scenarios. You'll also have instant access to a huge range of activities and programs designed to make your university experience unforgettable.

An associate degree is a two-year (full-time) qualification that allows you to build a strong foundation and work-ready skills in your field of interest. A bachelor degree gives you the theoretical and practical knowledge and skills for professional work. An honours degree allows you to deepen your knowledge and develop your research, analytical and communication skills. Students must have prior knowledge and eligible qualification for admission into an honours degree.

Semester 2, 2024 (Midyear)

Undergraduate courses open for application on 12 March. 

To find out whether a course is open for application for Semester 2 2024, click the ‘Apply’ button at the top of the specific course’s RMIT webpage. You can also get in contact with Study@RMIT if you have any questions that you need answered.   

Applications will be accepted for each program until all places are filled, so ensure you apply as early as possible for your application to be considered. Late applications may result in a delayed class commencement. 

Semester 1, 2025  

Undergraduate courses open for application in August. Keep an eye out for the exact date and further information later in the year. 

A pathway is an alternative way to get into a course if you don’t quite meet the entry requirements. RMIT's flexible pathways can help you move through different levels of study to reach the qualification you're aiming for. Some courses provide guaranteed entry and credit, which can help you reduce the time it takes to complete your studies.  

Yes! Students who are studying at another university or institution can apply to study at RMIT and may be eligible to receive credit for your previous study.

Our pathways provide you with the opportunity to study a bachelor degree without having the need for an ATAR. Pathways allow you to start with a certificate and transfer into your dream degree, earning multiple qualifications along the way.
