Ukulele classes - beginners
It's like a guitar, but smaller.
Please note: If you have never played a ukulele before, please arrive at 12 so that you can learn the basics before class begins.
The ukulele is an excellent instrument for anyone, who doesn't already play an instrument, to build their musical muscles.
Easy to play, easy to learn and easy to transport, the ukulele sounds great, and is the perfect instrument to begin songwriting and singing along with your friends.
Join one of our fun free ukulele classes at the city campus, available to all RMIT students. You will learn the basics of playing the ukulele - including chords, songs and how to tune your ukulele.
How it all works:
Classes are free to join; however, if you have never played a ukulele before, you will need to attend one of our beginner basics classes, which is a half-hour class where you will learn the fundamentals of playing the ukulele. Then you will be able to join one of the classes to expand upon your skills, play songs and build on your repetoir of chords and techniques. Come half an hour before the scheduled class to attend this class!
Ukuleles will not be provided, however, you can purchase one at the RMIT Campus Store at a heavily subsidised price. You can then pick up your ukulele on the first day of class.
