This 4-week course steps you through writing and performing your first stand up comedy routine.

Have you ever wanted to try stand up comedy? This 4 week course steps you through writing and performing your first routine. Students are introduced to comic styles and learn practical comedy writing and performance techniques. Build confidence by practising and work-shopping your material in a safe and supportive environment. This course will culminate in the opportunity for you to perform an in-classroom routine (optional).

About Elizabeth:

Elizabeth Davie is an award-winning comedian, performer and writer from Melbourne, Australia.

She created sell out comedy shows for fringe and comedy festivals around Australia, including Super Woman Money Program, The Yonder, Also Ran, CREEPS and Party Banana

Elizabeth wrote and performed in Channel 31 TV shows About Tonight, The Leak and Live on Bowen. She is one of the founders of Peanut Noir, a monthly experimental comedy night at Bar 303 in Northcote.

Elizabeth has studied clowning, improvisation and performance with Philippe Gaulier, Giovanni Fusetti, Philip Burgers, Deanna Fleysher and Clare Bartholomew. She won the 2018 FRINGE WORLD Festival Best Comedy Award for her solo show Super Woman Money Program.

Bring a water bottle and clothes suitable for movement.
