The course code search helps you to look up which EXTL course codes you need to enrol in for your exchange program.

Each RMIT school has its own set of course codes (eg, EXTL1234) in which you will be required to enrol for the duration of your exchange program. This is how RMIT keeps track of students studying overseas and ensures your host partner course credits can be accurately recorded.

Exchange course codes always start with EXTL. Each course code is worth 12 RMIT course credits. You need to enrol in EXTL courses so that your credit point total matches your approved study plan.

Semester exchange

You must enrol in a full-time course load (36-48 RMIT credit points per semester) while you are on exchange.

1. Select the school-specific codes in the order that they are presented until you achieve a full-time course load. It is not possible to enrol in the same exchange course code more than once.

2. Log in to Enrolment Online (via myRMIT) and use the ‘Class search’ tab to search for and enrol in the EXTL courses for the semester you will be on exchange.

Remember that you shouldn’t be enrolled in any RMIT-taught courses for the semester you’re on exchange.

Short term global summer or winter
