If you have recently returned from overseas, there are loads of ways you can help students to decide on, apply or prepare for their own global experience.
Are your friends sick of hearing about your overseas experience? Join the Global Experience Office and you will have a new audience eager to hear every detail! Use your first-hand experience to guide and inspire fellow students considering a global experience.
Global Experience Peer Advisors (paid)
Boost your resume and gain valuable customer service and social media skills by becoming a Global Experience Peer Advisor.
Peer Advisors undertake shifts at RMIT Connect, offering support and one-to-one advice to inbound and outbound global experience students.
Through the program you will also participate in global experience events, team meetings and assist in the development of the strategic direction for one of the following program areas: social media, pre-departure, information sessions or photo competitions.
Contact GEO to apply.
Global Experience Ambassador (volunteer)
Each semester we recruit a group of volunteer Global Experience Ambassadors to help spread the word about our great global experience programs.
The Global Experience Ambassador program is a LEAD accredited volunteer program, which means that in addition to your work experience with us, you get specialised training, a LEAD certificate signed by the Vice-Chancellor and recognition of your contribution on your academic transcript – a great addition to your resume!
As an ambassador, you will help the Global Experience Office to promote outbound global experiences at info sessions, during orientation and the annual Global Experience Fair.
You can also attend and organise events (orientation, movie nights, tours and football games) to welcome and assist inbound exchange students - showing them the best parts of living in Melbourne and gaining new friends from all over the world.
Contact GEO to apply.
Wanderlust annual photo competition
Every year the Global Experience Office runs an RMIT-wide photo competition. Winners are selected by popular vote, with some help from judges from the School of Art.
The People's Choice shortlist is now live on Facebook @RMITGlobal, get your vote in before the end of July.
In the meantime search #RMITGlobal on Insta to check out the quality of your competition!
