Shut Up and Write! is a regular get-together, where you prioritise writing over everything else.
Writing doesn’t need to be a solitary activity. It may seem counterintuitive, but writing in the company of others can provide a great boost to your productivity and focus. Shut up and Write! (SUAW) is a social writing experience, providing a supportive group environment where everyone can focus on their writing.
What Shut up and Write is not
A taught course or educational session on how to write – check out resources in PhD Up Online and the Library for research writing workshops and support
Competitive, ego-filled or critical. Just come along, do your work
How do I join in?
What if this time doesn’t suit me?
We understand that not everyone is able to join us for this session – you may have other meetings, childcare or other responsibilities that mean that Thursday mornings are no good for you.
If this is you and you’d like to participate in Virtual Shut Up and Write, then feel free to let us know what times would suit you using the link below.
We can’t accommodation everyone’s preferences but may be able to offer an alternative time for SUAW sessions, or provide support for you to set up your own group.
