Occupation: Native – NAIDOC Week Film Series
To celebrate NAIDOC Week, the Library presents free screenings of ten exceptional Indigenous films and documentaries.
Throughout NAIDOC Week 2018, RMIT University Library presents NAIDOC Week educational film screenings, a series of ten Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander films and documentaries.
Celebrating this year’s NAIDOC theme Because of Her We Can, the selected films share the powerful stories of Indigenous women and showcase the work of Indigenous women filmmakers, acknowledging the invaluable contributions that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women have made to our communities and nation.
In satirical documentary Occupation: Native, Aboriginal filmmaker Trisha Morton-Thomas gives a humorous examination of the Aboriginal story buried deep beneath the accepted 247-year Australian historical narrative.
This free event is open to all RMIT students, staff and their friends and families. You’re welcome to BYO snacks.
Come along, watch, learn, show support and celebrate NAIDOC Week!
