Cross-study mode enrolment
Only approved courses undertaken will be credited towards your RMIT award program. This means that you can only undertake the course/s identified and approved on the Cross study mode enrolment form. This is only for a short-term (one or two semesters), not a full transfer of your program.
Any unapproved courses undertaken at the host institute may not be considered as credit towards your RMIT award program.
Note: Onshore international students on a student visa are not eligible to study Open Universities Australia (OUA) or RMIT Online courses. OUA and RMIT Online courses aren’t registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS). Students studying on a student visa must study with an education provider and in a course that can be found on CRICOS.
Please complete the Cross-study mode enrolment form and seek out the appropriate approval.
Submit your application via the RMIT Connect Portal, and select Services > Enrolment > Change Enrolment at least 10 working days before the commencement of your studies, to receive the outcome of your application before your class start date.
You’ll be notified of the outcome via your student email once your application has been processed. Please check your email regularly for the email as it will contain important information needed to proceed with your enrolment.
When your application has been approved by your school or college, you’ll receive enrolment instructions to your student email address from Global Enrolment Services, Enrolment and Student Records.
Please note, students changing from face-to-face to online study via OUA will be prompted by Global Enrolment Services to contact an OUA student advisor to finalise enrolment within 10 days of your application being sent to OUA. Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of your enrolment.
Change or cancel your enrolment
If you’re studying online via OUA, contact an OUA student advisor to vary or to cancel your enrolment.
If you’re enrolled at RMIT on-campus and RMIT Online, you can vary or cancel your enrolment in Enrolment Online. To find more information, see the Change or cancel your enrolment page. Please refer to the Important Dates page to see the key deadlines for cancelling or changing your enrolment.
As an RMIT on-campus student changing to online study via OUA, you agree to be invoiced and are required to pay the fees to OUA. Please note that you’ll need to pay fees to OUA before you can be enrolled in the approved course.
As an RMIT student (changing to online or face-to-face mode, excluding OUA), you’ll be charged tuition fees set by RMIT and required to pay the fees directly to RMIT. The due date of the fees will be stated on your invoice. You may be eligible to defer your fees under FEE-HELP, please see FEE-HELP for eligibility requirements.
