These instructions are for Melbourne based students who are seeking to complete one or more semesters of study at RMIT Vietnam.

Prior to enrolling into courses at RMIT Vietnam you must first:

  • be active in a Melbourne-based RMIT program
  • have completed an enrolment checklist for the academic year into which you are enrolling
  • have been approved by Global Experiences to undertake cross campus study at RMIT Vietnam.

Once you have been approved to undertake cross campus study you will be provided with a study plan which will confirm your approved courses for study at RMIT Vietnam.

Initial enrolment in cross campus study

Until you have been approved for cross campus studies you must maintain your enrolment in your Melbourne based program in line with all enrolment deadlines.

Please note: if you are in Vietnam for the onshore enrolment deadline for the following year, you will still need to log in to RMIT Melbourne Enrolment Online and complete an enrolment checklist for the academic year you are studying.

By completing the cross campus enrolment process you will be enrolled in both your RMIT Vietnam courses and the equivalent virtual courses in your Melbourne based program. This will ensure your fee arrangements, including HELP loans, are maintained and that your Vietnam studies are represented correctly on your transcript.

Once you have been approved for cross campus studies you must ensure you have completed your enrolment checklist in Enrolment Online for the academic year in which you are studying.

To complete the enrolment process for cross campus you must:

  1. complete a Cross campus (Melbourne to Vietnam) enrolment variation form (PDF 243kb 2p) listing the courses you will be studying at RMIT Vietnam
  2. attach a copy of your approved Education Abroad study plan
  3. submit these at RMIT Connect.

NB: Your Enrolment variation form does not require a school signature for authorisation, all necessary authorisation is confirmed by the study plan.

Based on your study plan you will be enrolled at RMIT Vietnam in the approved courses. Based on your Enrolment variation form, your Melbourne enrolment will be amended to reflect the courses you are studying that are delivered at RMIT Vietnam.

If you were previously enrolled in Melbourne based courses for the semester you are studying at RMIT Vietnam, these courses will be dropped from your enrolment as part of this process.

Once your cross campus enrolment has been processed, an email will be sent to your RMIT student email account confirming your enrolment and advising that a Confirmation of Enrolment is available in Enrolment Online. It is your responsibility to check this document to confirm all details are correct.

While you are studying in Vietnam

Changing your address

It is important that you maintain your contact details on your student record. You should ensure that you update Enrolment Online with your address once you have found permanent accommodation in Vietnam. You will need to change this back to your Melbourne address on your return.

Varying your enrolment

If for any reason you need to change one of the courses you have enrolled in at RMIT Vietnam you must do this via a Cross campus (Melbourne to Vietnam) enrolment variation form (PDF 243kb 2p) submitted to the Student Services Help Desk on campus in Vietnam.

If the course you are changing into was not on your original study plan you must also gain approval from your School via email.

Please ensure you take note of any enrolment deadlines for your following year’s Melbourne program as these could elapse while you’re away.

After you return to Melbourne

You will need to change your address back to your Melbourne address.

Your transcript

Once you have completed your cross campus studies in Vietnam your transcript will seamlessly state your Vietnam courses and their grades and will have a note stating: ‘Global passport activity recorded for studies at RMIT Vietnam.’
