Cross-study mode enrolment
Before you enrol
Only approved courses undertaken will be credited towards your RMIT award program. This means that you can only undertake the course/s identified and approved on the Cross study mode enrolment form. This is only for a short-term (one or two semesters), not a full transfer of program.
Any unapproved courses undertaken at the host institute may not be considered as credit towards your RMIT award program.
Note: Onshore international students on a student visa are not eligible to study Open Universities Australia (OUA) courses. OUA courses are not registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS). Students studying on a student visa must study with an education provider and in a course that can be found on CRICOS.
How do I enrol?
You will receive enrolment instructions from Enrolment and Student Records (ESR) when your application has been approved by your school/college.
For RMIT on campus students going to study via OUA, you will be prompted by ESR to contact OUA student advisors and required to finalise your enrolment within 10 days. Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of your enrolment.
You must submit your application for cross-study mode enrolment at least one week before the class start date so it can be approved before the commencement of a semester.
Change or cancel your enrolment
For students enrolled at OUA, please contact OUA student advisor.
For students enrolled at RMIT on-campus, find out more on the Change or cancel your enrolment page.
As an RMIT on-campus student to RMIT OUA student, you agree to be invoiced and required to pay the fees to OUA.
As an RMIT OUA to RMIT on campus student, you will be charged tuition fees set by RMIT and required to pay the fees directly to RMIT.
Complete and submit your application
Please complete the Cross study mode enrolment form, which needs to be submitted with all the appropriate signatures.
Submit your application to RMIT Connect. Make sure you do this before the relevant commencement of a semester.
You will receive notification of the outcome once your application has been processed.
