Assessments submission

The type and number of assessments you will be required to complete as an RMIT Online student may vary from course to course. It is important that you refer to your assessment outlines for information about assignments and how they are to be submitted.

Assessment outlines are available through Canvas and will include important information for each assignment, including rubrics, due dates and submission requirements. It is important that you are aware of these details in order to plan your time effectively and meet the deadlines for submission. Most assessments will need to be submitted through Turnitin. You can submit your assessments directly in Canvas by accessing the Assignments link in your Course Navigation.

Applying for an extension

If you are prevented from submitting an assessment on time by circumstances outside your control you may apply in advance for an extension of time. Extensions can be granted for up to seven days if applied for before the due date of the assessment. You will be required to complete and submit an Application for extension of time for submission of assessable work form to your tutor and they will advise you of the outcome.

Special consideration

If you want to apply for an extension after the due date or for a period in excess of seven days, you need to apply for Special consideration.
