Getting vaccinated against COVID-19 protects you against COVID-19, helps prevent you from getting seriously ill and reduces the chance of you spreading it to others.

COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective. A booster (third dose) keeps up your immunity against COVID-19 and helps you maximise your protection. If you are eligible for a winter booster dose, it is also recommended you get this. Find out if you’re eligible.

There are also some circumstances where staff and students are required to be vaccinated due to the nature and location of the work or study – e.g., health settings.

RMIT strongly encourages all staff and students to vaccinate against COVID-19 and to receive a booster dose as soon as you are eligible.

Visit the Victorian Government website for more information on COVID-19 vaccinations and eligibility.

All RMIT students (including international students), staff and the wider community who are due for an initial dose or eligible for a booster (third dose) or winter booster dose can attend the vaccination clinic. This means your friends, family and housemates can also attend - just be sure to book them an appointment time. You only need to include their name, email address and whether they are a staff member, student or other.

Absolutely. COVID-19 vaccines are free (including for international students). You don’t need a Medicare card to receive a free vaccine.

If you completed your initial vaccination course overseas with a vaccine recognised by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), you can get your booster dose.

You must also be aged 16 and over and have completed your initial vaccination course three or more months ago.

COVID-19 vaccinations are available at many General Practitioners (GPs) or pharmacies across Victoria. Visit the Vaccine Clinic Finder to find and book a COVID-19 vaccine appointment.
