Neurodivergence-Friendly Study Sessions: Shut Up and Write!

The Library, ELA and RUSU are holding sensory sensitive study sessions inclusive of those in our community who are neurodivergent.

'Shut Up and Write' is a supportive group writing session for students who identify as neurodivergent. Write with a bunch of people who have writing goals just like you, in an environment that suits your needs.

Writing is broken up into short bursts of 25 minutes with a break in-between (The Pomodoro Technique). Rinse and repeat for a couple of hours and you might be surprised how much you get done!

Note: registrations are encouraged, but not required. By registering your spot, you'll receive event reminders and resources.

What you can expect from this session:

  • Dimmed lights
  • Space to spread out in a large room in the Library, city campus
  • Quietness (but not dead silence)
  • Structured breaks
  • Healthy snacks and some sensory toys from RUSU

What 'Shut Up and Write' is not:

  • A taught course or educational session on how to write
  • Competitive, ego-filled or critical

Just come along and write with us in a friendly environment!
