Have Your Say Week is a series of co-design workshop, ideation sessions and discussion groups for RMIT students to share feedback, ideas and experiences.

Have Your Say Week 2023 is happening from 11-15 September. This event is all about student-led conversations, sharing ideas and shaping life at RMIT.

This year, you will meet RMIT staff at every session. Meet the people behind the scenes, share your thoughts and create real change.

We encourage RMIT students from all campuses to join our sessions. Students from Brunswick and Bundoora campus please send an email to studentvoice@rmit.edu.au regarding eligiblity of public transportation fee support.

Have Your Say Week Session 1

Session 1 – Unlocking financial support: Addressing systemic insecurity

Financial distress is now one of Australia's most significant societal issues. How do we understand that in our RMIT community? What are we doing to address it?

Join this session alongside community leaders from City of Melbourne, Melbourne City Mission and more, as well as RMIT staff. 

Topics covered in this session will include: 

  • What RMIT is doing to support students' financial wellbeing, as well as the University's strategy and plans
  • Ways to improve financial services, including access to and awareness of available supports
  • Solutions for issues facing students such as systemic food insecurity
  • Future planning and implementation considerations 

Free lunch included with added prizes and goodies.

Join this session to help design and co-create a future RMIT campus that allows our student community to connect, explore, and inspire in a truly seamless experience.

Session 3 - Equitable learning for everybody: Strengthening inclusion at RMIT - Have Your Say Week 2023

You share, RMIT listens, we explore change together.

Everyone deserves to get the support they need to thrive. Facilities, programs and design that benefit students with disabilities can benefit everybody.

Join the conversation to help improve student experience.

Topics to discuss for an even more inclusive RMIT: 

  • How RMIT professional staff and teaching staff can better support students with disabilities and through times of hardship?
  • What are the stigma and barriers existing for students with disabilities? Let's change the dialogue for a more empathetic, safe space for everyone
  • When you need support: what's easy, what's challenging and what's available?

Session 4 - Networking showcase with RMIT staff, industry experts and community leaders


A dedicated space for RMIT students to meet RMIT staff and community leaders to present ideas, solutions and ongoing projects.
Join this catered networking event and meet the teams behind-the-scenes at RMIT, hear about the success projects created from students raising their voice and spark ideas for the future.

Topics covered in session:

  • Staff and students’ short presentations on solutions to improve RMIT communities 
  • Explore the space with stations summarising current projects and efforts resulted from student voices
  • Networking with RMIT staff, community leaders and partner organisations. 

This is a catered event, with added prizes and goodies!
