Tech Talk: Hacking Corporate Australia - Tales from the Field

Learn how organisations and businesses identify cyber security risks with guest speaker Chris Gatford, founder of Hackitive.

RMIT Tech Talk is a monthly event where we invite inspirational speakers from the technology industry to talk about their experience, expertise and share valuable insights about cybersecurity and how to stay cybersafe. 

Our September Tech Talk will be hosted by Chris Gatford, the Founder and Director of Hacktive — a security services company focused on helping organisations identify risks, meet compliance obligations and educate frontline staff. 

Chris will be covering the following topics: 

  • What are the different types of hackers?  
  • Tales from the field 
  • Looking through the lens of hacker-tinted glasses  
  • How to protect yourself from hackers 

Chris Gatford has over 19 years experience performing penetration tests for organisations in Australia and around the world. He has reviewed countless IT environments and has directed and been responsible for numerous security assessments for a variety of corporations and government departments. Chris has co-authored books, is a frequent speaker and has appeared on SBS Insight, ABC News, Channel 10 News, Bloomberg TV and ABC's Four Corners.

Location: This is an online only event, hosted through Microsoft Teams.
