Learn more about the Indigenous culture, language and history through a two-hour walking tour in Melbourne this September!
Meeting at the Yarra Park Scar Trees, today a heritage listed site, Wurundjeri Educators share their stories of local Aboriginal history and culture in a guided walk of the many significant Birrarung and Kulin Nation meeting places, concluding at Enterprise Park.
As you take in the local surroundings and environment, Indigenous Educators will share their understanding of Woiwurrung language, the importance of Birrarung Wilam and the river camps, the natural resources of the area, including the wetlands, rock formations, animals, and local native foods, and so to, their spiritual connection with Bunjil, creator spirit, and the sky.
Stopping to reflect on significant historical locations, heritage listed sites and modern-day sculptures and installations, passionate about sharing their knowledge, Wurundjeri Educators weave their knowledge and storytelling to consider both the traditional Aboriginal connections to country and waterways, and the historical conflict that would follow.
