About our workshops

These two-hour workshops are for students, who want to build confidence and skills in maths, statistics, chemistry and physics. You can attend the full workshop over several days or any part of the workshop

Workshops on offer

Physics workshop 1

Designed for students who have limited knowledge of physics. Covers basic concepts such as measurement and units, vectors, displacement, velocity and acceleration, parallel and series circuits, and circular motion.

10.30am-12.30pm and 1.30pm-3.30pm

Advanced physics workshop 2

For students who have completed at least the equivalent of Year 11 physics. The course will review and extend circular motion, dynamics, two and three dimensional forces, moments and couples, projectiles and angular motion.

Statistics workshop 1

Statistics for students commencing in Vocational Education programs covering business statistics and psychology. Topics covered include summation notation, basic probability, sample spaces, binomial and normal distributions and hypothesis testing.

Statistics workshop 2

Maths for students commencing business and psychology programs in 2020. Statistics for Higher Education Business Statistics and Psychology. Covers topics such as summation notation, basic probability, sample spaces, binomial and normal distributions and hypothesis testing.

Mathematics workshop 1

Prepare you for your Vocational Education math program in science, engineering and geospatial. This workshop covers calculus, trigonometry, functions and graphs, equation solving and more. Recommended, if you didn't do Maths Methods and Specialist Maths at VCE Year 12, or if you need a refresher.

Prepare for your Higher Education maths program in science, engineering and geospatial. This workshop covers calculus, trigonometry, functions and graphs, equation solving and more.

Advanced mathematics workshop

Maths for students transferring from Vocational Education to 2nd or 3rd year Higher Education engineering. This advanced maths program covers differential equations essential for many Higher Education engineering programs. 

Monday 24 February - Thursday 27 February

Chemistry workshop 1

For students commencing Vocational Education or Higher Education chemistry programs. Covers the fundamentals, including problem-solving practice, atoms, electronic structure, the periodic table, elements, compounds, equations and balancing

Monday 10 February - Friday 14 February
10.30am-12.30pm and 1.30pm-3.30pm

Chemistry workshop 2

Extends chemistry principles from workshop 1 and involves further problem-solving.
