Melbourne City, East Melbourne, Southbank, Docklands, Carlton, North Melbourne, West Melbourne, South Melbourne, Parkville, Fitzroy

  • Distance to City campus is 0.5–3 kilometres. Suburbs are either within short walking distance or at most 10–15 minutes travel by tram.
  • Accommodation in these suburbs can be expensive.
  • Most private hostels and student apartment complexes are located in these areas.

Less than 7 kilometres

Carlton North, Fitzroy North, Richmond, Abbotsford, Collingwood, Clifton Hill, South Yarra, Prahran, Windsor, Toorak, Albert Park, Middle Park, Port Melbourne, St Kilda, Northcote, Brunswick, Flemington, Kensington, Ascot Vale, Footscray

  • Distance to City campus is 3–7 kilometres. Travel time is approximately 15–25 minutes on public transport.
  • There are very few private hostels or student apartment complexes located in these areas, however most other housing options are available.

Less than 12 kilometres

Caulfield North, Armadale, Malvern, Glen Iris, Camberwell, Ivanhoe, Fairfield, Thornbury, Croxton, Preston, Coburg, Strathmore, Essendon, Moonee Ponds, Williamstown, Yarraville, Newport, Maribyrnong

  • Distance to City campus is 8–10 kilometres. Travel time is approximately 20–35 minutes on public transport.
  • There are very few private hostels or student apartment complexes located in these areas, however most other housing options are available.
