What is a Master Dual Award?

The School of Engineering has developed several dual masters degrees with our partner institutions in Germany. You can complete one year of study at RMIT and a second year at a partner institution, and receive two masters degrees.

Who is eligible?

Selection is based on academic merit (cumulative grade point average or GPA) through the School of Engineering.

You must be currently enrolled in one of the following single award programs:

  • Master of Engineering (Aerospace) MC225
  • Master of Engineering (International Automotive Engineering) MC230
  • Master of Science (Mechanical Engineering) MC258

If you are interested in this program please contact your Program Manager in the first semester of study at RMIT for study plan advice.

Where can I go?

How much will it cost?

Masters dual degree students do not have to pay tuition fees to the host institution. You will continue to pay your domestic or international student fees to RMIT. While studying overseas you remain enrolled as an RMIT student, paying fees and accruing HECS as usual.

Costs vary depending on your destination. As a guide, we recommend you budget at least AU$2,000 for accommodation and living expenses for each month you will be overseas.

You need to have sufficient funds to finance a semester/s overseas. You may be asked to provide evidence of your financial security when applying for your  visa.

There are heaps of scholarships, grants and Government support available to support students wishing to study overseas.
