What is inter-location exchange?
Inter-location exchange is the recommended global experience for SIM students seeking to take core modules in a different location. It is a fantastic opportunity to study in Australia and immerse yourself in a new culture.
RMIT Melbourne and Vietnam students are also able to undertake exchange to SIM.
Who is eligible?
Inter-location places are limited and are awarded based on academic merit.
All inter-location exchange students need to meet the eligibility criteria:
- be in your final year, as per SIM requirement
- have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 (out of 4.0)
- Be 18 years of age or over at time of application
- be enrolled in one of the following RMIT University programs:
- BP254 Bachelor of Business (Accountancy)
- BP251 Bachelor of Business (Economics and Finance)
- BP255 Bachelor of Business (Logistics & Supply Chain Management)
- BP217 Bachelor of Business (Management)
- BP252 Bachelor of Business (Marketing)
- BP253 Bachelor of Business (International Business)
What can I study?
Please note that some Bachelor of Business programs have program structure changes as from 2018. It is important that you read the information below before you complete the expression of interest.
How to check whether your program may be affected?
1. Click on the program structure link of your program
2. Scroll within the link and if you see under “Program Changes” that there is a Program Transition/Progression map, this means that there is a new program structure. This may mean either a course within the program has changed title or being replaced by another course. If there is no “Program Changes”, it means that your program structure has not changed.
3. Please download the Program Transition/Progression Map, which is an easy-to-use Excel tool, from your Enrolment Program Structure (EPS) to ensure you have the most up-to-date version.
4. You will then be able to identify the changes with the courses within your program.

How much will it cost?
If you are undertaking inter-location exchange to RMIT Melbourne for one semester, you do not have to pay tuition fees to RMIT. Instead you will continue to pay your domestic or international students fees to SIM. As an International Student, it is a condition of your student visa that you have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the entire duration of your stay in Australia.

How do I apply?
Step 1 Attend an information session, email firstname.lastname@example.org to register your interest
Step 2 Submit your Expression of Interest by the deadline (1 March and 30 August each year)
Step 3 The eligible applicants will be notified by RMIT Melbourne via email to their RMIT email account and invited to submit an online application
Step 4 If your application is successful, you will receive a Letter of Offer
Step 5 Accept your Letter of Offer and arrange your Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). OSHC is an Australian immigration requirement for students on a student visa.
Step 6 Once RMIT has your acceptance, we will email you an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCOE) document. You will need this to apply for your student visa.
Step 7 Start planning your arrival in Melbourne
Step 8 Enrol online. We will provide you with instructions on how to enrol in your courses at RMIT Melbourne closer to your start date
Step 9 Attend the RMIT Global Experience Orientation at the beginning of the semester to meet fellow exchange students and find out all about living and studying in Melbourne
