After completing her Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) at RMIT in 1993, Shannon McGrath made the decision to return to RMIT to study her Master of Fine Art.
Be open to exploring ideas and developing your artistic intent.
"I have always tried to develop my art practice outside my commercial practice to create depth to my work. Thanks to the Master of Fine Art, I have learnt to speak more clearly about my art and to push a few more boundaries to develop even further.
"This depth has evolved through the conceptual interaction with my supervisors and in my tutorials, and by learning about how other students work and allow their thoughts and processes to develop.
"I am currently working on photographic prints that manipulate and manifest light into a formalist abstraction. This abstraction alters our perception of reality and gives us a sensate experience of entering a fragmented space."
