Simone Huang has a newfound interest in haematology and is looking forward to a career as a laboratory scientist.
Master of Laboratory Medicine
The library and the pathology museum are my go-to places when I want to look at blood films, histology slides and textbooks.
I completed an undergraduate degree in Perth before moving to Melbourne to study postgraduate laboratory medicine at RMIT.
I’ve always been interested in laboratory medicine, and I was looking for an intensive hands-on experience to give me an advantage in the job market.
The best thing about studying at RMIT is that there are lots of practical classes that are both challenging and rewarding.
After one semester here, I’ve developed a keen interest in haematology and I’m feeling inspired about a future in this field.
The library and the pathology museum are my go-to places when I want to look at blood films, histology slides and textbooks. The pathology museum is comfortable and quiet – a great place to think and read.
When I graduate, I’m aiming for a career as a laboratory scientist, specialising in haematology with the freedom to work both in Australia and overseas.
