An interest in laboratory work and a desire for practical learning turned Dalia Al-Hido towards a Diploma of Laboratory Technology (Pathology Testing).
Diploma of Laboratory Technology (Pathology Testing)
A Diploma of Laboratory Technology prepares someone for working in the industry by giving them real access to functioning labs.
I find pathology testing and laboratory work really interesting and I wanted to know more about it. I looked around at courses for a while before settling on RMIT to do a Certificate III in Science, and my current diploma.
The lab equipment and computers here are second-to-none, and have been really valuable in helping me to do my course. They sound like small things, but are so important!
What I’ve found is a Certificate III in Science acts as a stepping-stone to further education; a Diploma of Laboratory Technology prepares us for working in the industry by including a lot of practical tests in the labs.
If I have one other tip for future students, it’s this: be sure to make friends once you start at university – it’s a great help when trying to understand information you may have missed.
