Why did you choose the Master of Business Information Technology?
I wanted to learn more about the business aspects of IT. The program offered great insights into managing IT efficiently while keeping in mind the business aspects.
Where were you previously working?
I worked with Infosys Limited, India as a Systems Engineer for two years.
How did you manage the work, life and study balance?
Although quite a challenge I managed to strike this balance pretty well. I took up morning classes so that I could work part-time and support my studies. Weekends were mostly spent with friends.
What did you like best about the program?
Interactive class lectures and group assignments were the key aspects of the program that appealed to me.
What advice do you have for others thinking about studying the Master of Business Information Technology?
If you are looking to give your professional career an all-round shape then choose this program as it will help you strike a balance between IT and Business
How have your studies at RMIT helped your career prospects?
After graduating from RMIT my career prospects have definitely taken flight. I am now working as a Business Analyst with a digital consulting company based in Melbourne.
How did your ‘soft skills’ develop during your study and since completing?
Proficient presentation skills is what I think has been enhanced the most in me as a professional. The class presentations definitely prepare you for the outside world and allow you to be confident in your abilities
If you could speak to your ‘past self’ as a student what advice would you give?
I would tell myself to participate whole heartedly in the class activities and never hesitate to ask questions of the lecturers
What was the most useful aspect of your studies at RMIT towards your career?
The industry relevant courses and how they are passed onto the students is something I consider most useful.
What were your favourite experiences at RMIT?
The Swanston Academic Building and all the activities around it were something I will really cherish my entire life. Be it the classes, presentations or any other activity, that place was always vibrant.
