Nour Albtaddini likes to get involved. Through group assigments and the staff-student committee, he's finding his program isn't just a first step in an IT career.
Certificate IV in Information Technology Networking
I enjoyed the group assignments because I found it easy to work with my classmates.
I am entrepreneurial. I am tech-savvy. I am social.
My dream is to have my own app development company so I needed a good way to get into the field of information technology and computer science. I chose RMIT because of its great reputation for its facilities and study opportunities and because it offers flexible pathways into further study.
So far my favourite part of this Certificate has been the programming subject, which is probably not that surprising for someone who wants to be an app developer! I’ve been surprised though at how much I’ve enjoyed learning more about virtualisation and servers and also at taking on some networking skills, which I was a bit lacking in before I started.
I’ve also been able to develop my social and business skills though. Something that I enjoyed in the program was the group assignments as well because I found it easy to work with my classmates. I’m also one of the class reps for my program, which means I provide feedback from other students and also set up and decide some of the class activities.
Next, I’m planning to study the Associate Degree in IT and get more experience working as a developer in the industry before I go out and start my own company.
My advice to anyone coming into this program is to put in as much effort and ask as many questions as you can because it will all pay off.
I love what I do because it is challenging but it is also very rewarding and I always look forward to doing it.
