STUDENT
Joanne Adams – Education Support
Joanne studied a Certificate IV in Education Support to get a foot in the door in education, and for its pathway to a bachelor degree.

There were two main reasons I chose to study a Certificate IV in Education Support. First, I wanted a course that would lead to job opportunities and a foot in the door in education. Second, the certificate also provides a pathway to gain entry into the Bachelor of Education, which is something I want to do.
RMIT is well respected within the industry and provides a clear path to becoming a teacher, unlike some other universities where you feel more like a seat filler. The best part about studying at RMIT is that the teaching staff are incredibly supportive and really want to help all their students achieve their best. RMIT offers extensive student support services, which is important for me because I sometimes have difficulties that hold me back from achieving my full potential, but with support from teaching staff and student services, reaching my goal is very achievable.
Hands-on placements give students real-world experience in the classroom, which is invaluable for preparing for a career.
I can’t save the world, but as a teacher I can save one child’s world, and that’s enough for me.
