Wanting to further his studies, Alistair Little undertook postgraduate studies in structures and forensics. He is now utilising his knowledge working at a structural engineering firm.
Master of Engineering (Structures and Forensics)
I wanted to gain more experience and ensure my knowledge aligned with the most current practise in the field.
After studying a Bachelor of Civil Engineering at the University of Melbourne, I decided to undertake postgraduate study. I wanted to gain more experience and ensure my knowledge aligned with the most current practise in the field.
I decided to study at RMIT as the program sounded really interesting with very practical and applicable subjects that centred around areas I had not learnt from any other course I had completed.
Being part of a small course has meant there have been a lot of discussion and support from staff and other students at various stages of their degrees.
Since graduating I am now working full-time at Mordue Engineering, a structural engineering firm, as a Design Engineer. Currently I am working on several projects focusing primarily on pre-stressed concrete design.
My dream is to be able to leave a mark on this world. I hope to see my engineering designs improve people’s lives both functionally and visually. I know that I will get great satisfaction out of saying ‘I helped design that’.
