I chose RMIT because of its strong connections with industry. The practical components of the program, together with theory have really enhanced my understanding.
I’ve always been intrigued and fascinated by the complexity of the human body, especially the cardiovascular system. Studying a Bachelor of Biomedical Science was an obvious choice for me.
The anatomy labs are my absolute favourite. The labs are great experience and provide us with a good idea of what we’re expected to do in industry. Group projects have enhanced my team-working skills.
I’ve only been at RMIT for a short time but I’ve really enjoyed meeting people from different backgrounds and sharing the same passion and interests.
University can be challenging when it comes to time management, however it is possible to keep up a good GPA, have a social life and get enough rest - it’s all about prioritising. I believe if you love what you study, your grades are going to reflect this.
My goal is to eventually become a successful cardiothoracic surgeon. The Bachelor of Biomedical Science at RMIT is the start of my path to medical school.
