I chose RMIT for its industry reputation in fostering excellent and capable nurses. RMIT’s nursing degree has so many components that contribute to fostering work-ready graduates. Its main strength is linking theory to practice by having varied exposure in real workplaces. This helps to build our knowledge, skills and confidence, and also enables the opportunity to explore areas and workplaces that we may want to pursue after graduating.
The positive feedback I’ve received has really built up my confidence in being a competent nurse out in the ‘real world’.
I volunteer with the Student Union (RUSU) and I’m an RMIT Ambassador. I’ve involved myself in numerous events and programs run by RUSU, and met many great people from different disciplines and degrees that I otherwise would not have. I’ve been presented with numerous opportunities for further self-development, such as taking part in Mental Health First Aid. It really helps to keep a social and academic balance, not to mention the great networking opportunities.
If you are compassionate, caring and want to make a real difference, then this is right for you!
